World Builder Weekly

What is it?

Worldbuilder weekly is a weekly art challenge, focused on creating a habit of consistent creative attempts and world building within a singular world. The idea is to create a consistent practice of making something. There are so many examples of artists partaking in a similar challenge! For example the Thing A Week albums by JoCo.

Why do this?

The intention behind WBW is to help you create a habit of creation while also helping you not get bogged down by choice. I have often found that I get stuck when I have too many projects to work on. The paralysis of choice is my biggest enemy. I will end up doing nothing at all when I get overwhelmed by the many many ideas that I've got stashed away in various notebooks and folders.

On top of that it helps create a habit. Both for intentional creation but also for accepting unfinished projects. As you'll see in the rules below if you don't finish your artwork or writing by the end of the week the spirit of the challenge means you should drop it and start the next one! The goal is to keep pushing and making in spite of whether or not you finish what you're working on. Not to get bogged down by a backlog of prompts you feel like you have to finish to completion. If you don't finish them let them die. You can finish them later but THAT is no longer part of the challenge.
